[ How to Register ]
- A COURSE
A high number of participants is expected in A COURSE and they will be divided into 3 groups according to the expected finishing time.
> A1 Course: Expected finishing time: 7-8 hours
> A2 Course: Expected finishing time: 9-10 hours
> A3 Course: Expected finishing time: 11-12 hours
* To participate in A COURSE, you must have experience in completing the Sado Long Ride A, B or C course within the last five years OR in completing a race of more than 100 km.
* We cannot accept any registration with missing information or registrations that do not meet the required qualifications.

- TANDEM BICYCLE
* Tandem bicycles are allowed on the D Course only. (2 riders only)
* Tandem bicycles with 1 rider are allowd on the A, B, and C Courses.

- Registration
For tandem bicycles, please register with one (1) representative rider.
Please provide the information about the partner rider after selecting the type of race.
* The partner rider does not need to be registered at Sports Entry.

* Registration for each course will close as soon as the maximum capacity has been reached.
* Change of course must be made before paying for registration.
* Please understand the registration fee will not be refunded if cancelled by participant or due to bad weather.
* Payments made after the closing date, overpayments, or payments of duplicate registrations will not be refunded.
* Registration will be cancelled and fee will not be refunded if the qualification report for A Course contains false information.
* Elementary school students must participate with a guardian. Guardians need to register separately."

Qualifications - A Course
Riders with experience in completing the Sado Long Ride A, B or C course within the last five years OR in completing a race of 100 km or more.
* Registrants will be divided into 3 groups (A1-A3) depending on the expected finishing time at the time of entry.

- D Course
Tandem bicycles are allowed in D Course only and are limited to 2 riders. (Registration by Internet only)

- In All Courses:
All men and women who are more than elementary school age, healthy, and with the ability to complete the race within the suggested time limit.
Elementary school students must participate with a guardian.
Participants who comply with the race rules, traffic rules, manners and accept the contents of the race oath.
Please have bicycles inspected by a qualified specialist prior to race day.

Access (shuttle bus) Island shuttle bus (fare applies)
There is limited parking near the event venue. Please use public transportation to to and around the island. There will be a participant shuttle bus that will arrive/depart in alignment to meet the Sado ferry schedule during the event. There will also be special buses that will run between the local accommodation/lodgings and the event venue.

Access by car ferry To/from Niigata and Ryotsu port: 2hr 30min (jetfoil/high speed ferry takes 65min)
To/from Naoetsu port and Ogi: 1hr 40min (Akane car ferry)

Sado Kisen's (ferry service) booking service will be open for reservations from three months from the date of reservation departure.
Advanced bookings are required to carry bikes (fully assembled) on the ferry. There is a limit to the number of bicycles that can be taken on the ferry.

Course Details - A Course
A1 course: An exhilarating 210km course that runs through Sado Island (suitable for super advanced riders only. Anticipated completion time: 7-8 hours.
A2 course: A satisfyingly beautiful and scenic route through a 210km course around Sado Island (suitable for advanced riders). Anticipated completion time: 9-10 hours.
A3 course: A challenging 210km course (suitable for intermediate and advanced riders). Anticipated completion time: 11-12 hours.
We will sort which course you will be allocated based on your expected/anticipated time declared at the time of registration.

- B Course
Half-circumference distance of Sado Island (130km) crossing through Satoyama (suitable for intermediate riders).

- C Course
Introductory 100km course of Sado Island from Ryotsu port. Suitable for beginner and intermediate riders.

- D Course
A discovery 45km course, taking in the history and local historical sights of Sado Island. Ideal for beginners and families.

Special Notice [ At registration ]
* To register for A Course requires experience in completing the Sado Long Ride A, B or C course within the last five years OR in completing a race of more than 100 km.

* Registration is not accepted if the form is not fully filled in or if you do not meet the qualification standards.

* Participants in A COURSE will be divided into 3 groups according to the expected finishing time.(A1 / A2 / A3)

* Registration for each course closes as soon as capacity is filled.

* Please note that the registration fee will not be refunded if event is cancelled due to bad weather or if cancelled by participant after payment has been made.

Please have your bicycles checked by a specialist before the event and present the inspection certificate with shop’s verification stamp at the time of sign-up. *If you register online, please download the certificate from the website. (Certificate will be available for download in April)
If using postal transfer, the certificate must be enclosed with the notice letter.
* Please note that registration requires the inspection certificate.

[ Rules ]
1. You must follow the basic traffic rules such as temporary halts and stopping at red lights during the course unless there are special directions given by police officers or event staff.

2. You must obey any directions given by police officers and event staff while riding.

3. You must ride on the left side of the road and parallel riding is prohibited.

4. You must begin riding from the starting point.

5. About Equipment and Style of Bicycles
- Participate with a bicycle that can run on public roads on which small vehicles and recumbent bicycles can run.
- Bicycle must have good front and rear breaks.
- Two-seated bicycles including tandem bicycles are prohibited. (*except on D Course)
- Equipment such as DH handle bars or similar are prohibited.
- Helmets are required
- Front head light is required and must be turned on in tunnels.

6. Passing or riding parallel to the front pace vehicle is prohibited.

7. In case of retiring from the race, notify the event staff and follow their directions.

8. High school students or younger must have a guardian’s permission to participate.

9. In case of accident, either with other participants or with vehicles, report immediately to the event managing office and staff and follow their directions.

10. Riders are required to pass each check point within the designated time limit and if the rear pace vehicle catches up, you must retire from the race and ride in the pace vehicle.
* If you do not follow the above rules or do not respond to any warning by the event staff, you may be disqualified from the event.
Terms and Conditions (Contract) 1. I acknowledge that this is a cycling event which will take place on general public roads and that I will comply with general traffic laws and regulations, as well as rules stipulated by the Event/Race Organiser, and to cooperate in the smooth running of the event.

2. I will be responsible for my personal health and physical condition, and do not suffer from a cardiovascular disease. In participating in this event, I will train sufficiently. I will not hold the Race Organiser responsible for any injury, illness or damage suffered as a result of my participation in this event.

3. I will not object to any emergency first aid/medical attention in the event that I am sick or injured. Furthermore, I will not hold the Race Organiser responsible for any medical treatment/method or process carried out.
