Participant Notification After the registration deadline has closed, the Event Organising Committee will post out a confirmation notice of your entry/participation. Please be sure to bring this with you on the day as confirmation of your registration entry.

General distance: 16.7km (Timed course: 8.7km, Parade course: 8km)
The Challenge Cycle Course is an untimed event. However, the time limit is within 1.5 hours.
Competition Qualification The competition rules are in accordance with the Japan Cycling Competition Federation, and the rules/regulations of the Hillclimb Takachiho Event Executive Committee.
Vehicle/Bike rules Timed course
Bicycles for the timed course, must be bicycles that are in compliance with the rules/regulations of the Japan Cycling Competition Federation
Dangerous fixtures/accessories such as lights, back/rear view mirrors, bike stands, keys/locks, storage/luggage holder etc, are to be removed.
Fixed gear bikes and bikes with DH handlebars are not permitted. (Please refer to Other further information of the Participant Consent./Terms and Conditions form for further information on what is/isn't permitted).
General vehicles and electric vehicles are not permitted.

Challenge Cycle Course
Permitted bicycles for the Challenge Cycle Course are roadbikes, electric-assist bicycles, and general/standard bicycles. However, note that bicycles must be safe and if there is an issue with a bike's safety, it's use will be restricted (eg if the brakes do not work, a bike will not be permitted etc).

Points to note Particular rules/regulations for this event
1. Event participants are required to wear a helmet (mandatory) at all times during cycling (including warm up, trial cycle, during the event, and at anytime whilst cycling). The helmet standard must be approved/certified by the Japan Cycling Federation. Gloves must also be worn.
2. Clothing shall be suitable for cycling and appropriate for a cycling event.
3. The traffic will not be controlled during this event, therefore you must obey and comply with traffic regulations and rules.
4. Participants must be in adequate physical condition and health to competently compete in this event.
5. Minors must have parental/guardian consent and submit a guardian consent form.
6. You must bring your National Health Insurance Card (a copy is also OK)
7. It is prohibited to use or carry any glass containers/glass bottles during the event and whilst cycling.
8. The start for the timed event, will begin after the parade start. During the Parade section, it is prohibited to overtake the lead vehicle.

Points to note
1. You must cycle on the left hand side of the road and keep to the left.
2. When overtaking, please be sure to call out and verbally indicate you will pass. Please act safely and mutually cooperate amongst other participants.
3. Participants who are deemed or judged to be acting dangerously or in a dangerous manner may be disqualified.
4. The event may be cancelled whilst the race is in progress due to an accident, bad weather, natural disaster etc. In the event this happens, please follow the directions and instructions of event staff.
5. Participants in this event will be covered by accident insurance in accordance with the below policy provisions:
Death/Permanent disability, 70,000,000 yen
Hospital admittance: 5000yen per day
Outpatient treatment: 3000 yen per day
*Not limited to just the during the race, damaged, lost, stolen etc bicycles (including frames and parts) is not covered by insurance.
6. In participating in this event, be sure to have trained and prepared sufficiently, and ensure that you are in appropriate physical condition. In addition, please do not hesitate and exercise courage to withdraw or abstain from racing if you are not feeling well or are not in good physical condition.
7. On the day of the event, the course route will only be available from 7:30am to 11am. Traffic rules and regulations apply.
8. Please be sure to return the timer chip after the race. Failure to return the timer chip will result in a 2000yen fine which will be invoiced to you.
9. You cannot transfer your enter to another person. A proxy/substitute participant is strictly forbidden as this causes trouble in the event of an emergency and details of emergency contact.
10. Please take all your own rubbish back home with you to dispose of.
Terms and Conditions (Contract) Oath/Affirmations
1. I confirm that I will adhere to all the rules, regulations and instructions provided by the Event Organiser. I accept and confirm that the event will be carried out in accordance with regular traffic rules and regulations and that I accept full responsibility for my health and safety. I confirm that in the event that I become unwell, sick or injured that I will retire/withdraw from the race.
2. I confirm that I am in good health and physical condition, and that I do not expect to experience any problems by participating in this event.
3. I confirm that I have declared in advance any medical conditions, medical treatment, allergies etc that may affect any emergency medical treatment that may be given to me and that the Medical team should be aware of.
4. I agree to accept the Organiser's decision to discontinue or cancel the event if they deem it is not possible to continue. In addition, I also confirm that I will not object to medical treatment that may be given me in the event of an injury or accident during the race, and that I will not dispute the outcome of such medical treatment.
5. I agree to inform the Event Organiser promptly, in the event that I am injured during the trial/warm up, or during the event or incidental to the event. I agree to waive all responsibility of all parties involved for any injury suffered, death, or after effect of such accident/injury, regardless of the cause.
In addition, I acknowledge that compensation covered by the accident insurance policy for this event will be limited (for death/permanent disability 70,000,000 yen, hospitalisation is limited to 5,000 yen per day, and outpatient treatment to 3,000 yen per day). Accordingly, I (myself), my will's executor, trustee, heir, close relative, etc., also vow to not make any claims, or file lawsuits, or pursue legal costs for any injury/ies suffered by me, filing of lawsuits etc..
6. There may be a possibility that the event may be cancelled due to reasons such as bad weather, unsatisfactory race conditions, safety concerns, loss or damage to race equipment etc, In the event the race is cancelled or changed, you agree that no refund of entry fee or compensation for expenses incurred will be given. Furthermore, you will not make any claims or pursue the Event Organiser for any responsibility.
7. I acknowledge that my portrait, name, address, age, competition history etc, may be used in PR and advertising materials related to the event and by the media/press and other organisations related to the event. I consent to the commercial use and publication of printed materials, video, media etc.

Use and handling of personal information
1. The Event Organiser recognises the importance of personal information, and observes the laws and regulations concerning privacy and protection of information, and will handle personal information in accordance with the relevant laws and the personal information protection policy of the Event Organiser.
2. Your personal information may be used in accordance with the following purposes: to improve the services for race participants, participant information, participant confirmation/acceptance, related notices, future event planning, event sponsorship, cooperation and services from related/affiliated companies, record announcements/rankings etc.
3. The Event Organiser or an affiliate of the event, may contact you to confirm your registration details.
Other
Participants who register after the deadline, will be sent the Participant Waiver form. Please be sure to bring it with you on the event day.
Once entry fee has been paid, no refund will be made for any reason.
The SportsEntry registration processing fee is to borne by you.
