This open water swim race is one of Japan's open water swim series "The rough water swim - Japan series". The race will be held at Oiso city, Kanagawa Prefecture with distance options of 3km, 1.5km and an 800m erelay (800m x 3 people). The average water temperature is 21-22 degrees celcius. Wetsuits are permitted in all race categories.
Oiso is regarded as the birthplace of beach swimming in Japan and is one of the most popular beaches in Japan. From central Tokyo it's a convenient 1 hour or so by train. In the summer it's crowded with many beach-goers. The race venue along the Terugasaki coastline is a 15min walk from the Oiso JR train station.

| Race rules | Equipment Wetsuits are allowed to be worn in all race categories. We recommend wearing one if you have one Criteria for disqualification 1) Littering 2) Making false declarations with regard to eligibility criteria. 3) Not following the terms, or the instructions of race staff. 4) Those who do finish the race within the time limit 5) Not wearing a timer band/timing chip 6) Participants who are destructive to the environment 7) Any participant who is found cheating 8) For any participant 55 years or older: who have not had a medical examination in the 6 months prior to the race event Please note: 1) check-in desk: Oiso Terugasaki Beach check-in time: 24th Jun (sat) 6:30 am - 8:00 am Race check-in will open from 8am. Please be sure to check-in and get your number at least 1.5 hours before your race start time. 2) Please do not litter. Please take all of your rubbish with you when you leave. 3) Please be sure to bring your health insurance card. 4) In the event of bad weather either before or during the race, the organiser may cancel the race. 5) In the event of accident or emergency during the race, organisers may provide first aid, but otherwise bear no further responsibility. 6) If a participant is deemed to be unable to complete the race, staff may remove or disqualify a participant. 7) Race timer tag will be used to record race time. If the timer tag is lost or damaged, a 4000yen fee will be charged. 8) Anyone found in violation of the race rules may have a penalty time added to their race time depending on the nature of the violation. |
