The brand name ”Rokuju-yoshu (Sixty Islands)” was given a long time ago when there were more than 60 countries in Japan and its name carries the wish for everyone in Japan to love drinking it.
We look forward to serving dishes made from local produce and traditional local ingredients. |
Scenic point |
Walking along the mountainside of Konosu, you can experience the panorama of the countryside of Hasami Town and the cherry blossom trees (Sakura Zutsumi) along the river running through the center of the town. Hopefully, cherry blossoms in full bloom will welcome you.
・[Konosu Park]
In the southern district of Hasami Town, Konosu Park is located in the vicinity of Mt. Konosu and has a play ground and community field. On Saturdays and Sundays, families and children gather to enjoy the lawn and play equipment. Cherry trees and azaleas have been planted throughout the park which become a secret cherry-blossom viewing spot for the local area.
・[Taromaru-kanzeonbosatsu]
In 1572, a castle (San-jo Castle) of Omura Sumitada, a famous Christian lord, was attacked. A retainer Asanaga-akinokami Sumimoto repulsed the attack and was bestowed with the land of ”Hasami Tanogashira Taro Maru.” Since that time, he has been deified as the Shokanzeon-Bodhisattva and enshrined at Taro-maru.
・[Shidare Zakura](Weeping cherry blossom trees)
”Shidare Zakura” offer a full spread of pale pink blossoms. Planted on the hillside to catch the eye from a distance, these trees signal the beauty of the spring season. They are said to be well over a hundred years old.
・[Sakura-zutsumi Road]
A beautiful promenade lined with cherry blossom trees can be found on both banks of the Kawatana River. In the spring, you can enjoy walking or jogging the 5-kilometer long river bank lined with 450 cherry blossom trees. Observing the local kingfishers and herons while you walk will help you feel enriched.
・[Sui Jingu](Sui Shrine)
Suijingu enshrines the god of flood control, the god of women (Mizuhanomeno-mikoto) and the god of rice fields (Kuninosatsuchi-no-mikoto). In the Edo period, people prayed for rain during droughts. Currently, summer festivals are held to pray for the abundant harvest of rice and the prevention of water accidents. |
