Tournament overview ◎Age Group Events
Categories: Open to boys and girls in U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 divisions.
Players may only enter one age category, either their correct age group or an older one if desired.
●A Plate competition will be held in each category.
●Each player is guaranteed a minimum of two matches (this includes Bye).
●If fewer than 8 players register in a category, the event may be merged with the next higher age group.
● (Per WSF and ASF regulations, events with fewer than 8 players are considered unauthorized.)
●In the U19 divisions, if fewer than 8 players register, the category will be held as a non-sanctioned event.
Note:Players who withdraw from either the main or plate competition will be disqualified and will not receive AJSS or WJ ranking points.

◎Events and Eligibility
The Japan Junior Open is open to all junior players under the following age groups: U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19.
●Age categories are determined based on the player’s age as of 16th August 2025 (the final day of the competition).
●Players may only enter one age category, either their correct age group or an older one.
●All entries, including those of team officials, must be endorsed by their respective National Association/Federation.

◎Entry fee
20,000 yen (tax included)
◎Overseas Entry Limit
This year, international entries will be capped at 200 total entries across all categories.(Subject to slight adjustments.)

◎Entry Method
There are two ways to enter the tournament. Please note that entry periods differ depending on the method.

1. Entry via National Association/Federation
This option is for players who will be entered as part of an official team by their National association/Federation.
●Complete the designated entry form with the player’s name and other required details.
●Attach an official endorsement from your association/federation
●Submit the completed form via email to:tournament@squash.or.jp
Entry fees must be paid by the association/federation via international bank transfer or on-site payment upon arrival.

Deadline: 4 June 2025

2. Individual Entry
Players entering independently must register through the official entry website. https://www.sportsentry.ne.jp/entry/t/100525/e
Steps:
1. Complete the online registration form and make the payment.
2. Submit an endorsement letter from your national association/federation to tournament@squash.or.jp by the entry deadline.
Important Notes:
If the endorsement letter is not received by the deadline, your entry may be canceled.
There is no specified format for the endorsement letter. An email is acceptable, but it must include;
・Player’s name
・Age category
・Association/Federation information;
●Country name
●Contact person's name and title
●Contact person's Signature, date

◎Cancellation Policy
No refunds for cancellations after the entry deadline. *This policy also applies to cancellation submitted with an endorsement letter only.
Refunds (if approved for valid reasons) are subject to handling fees, borne by the athlete.

◎Practice Courts
Available only on August 12 at all venues.
●Reservation starts noon, July 30th (JST).
●Email: tournament@squash.or.jp Club does not accept direct bookings)

◎Transportation
Nearest airports: Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport.
●No airport transportation is provided by JSA.
●English support available at major airport, stations and hotels.


◎Accommodation
No official accommodations. Please arrange your own.
※Expect high demand due to the summer holiday period.

※Central Access: Shinjuku or Shibuya has relatively easy access to all venues.

◎Match Format
●Main Draw: Best of five games (11-point PAR), per World Squash Singles Rules.
●Plate Events: Best of three games.
●Seeding in accordance with ASF Championship Regulations.

◎Player Withdrawal
If a player needs to withdraw from the tournament, they must notify the Japan Squash Association by email as soon as possible, clearly stating the reason.
Please note: Entry fees are non-refundable for withdrawals made after the entry deadline.

Late Withdrawal
Withdrawals submitted after the entry deadline will be treated as ‘late withdrawals’.
A medical certificate or relevant supporting documentation must be provided.
Players who fail to submit valid documentation will receive ‘zero’ ranking points, and this result will count as one of their best four results.
If proper documentation is submitted, the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) will assess the case individually and determine if the withdrawal is valid.

◎Refereeing Duties
Both players of a completed match will be expected to officiate the next match.
(From semifinals onwards, JSA will assign referees.)

◎Eyewear
All junior players under the age of 19 are required to wear protective eyewear approved by WSF. The eyewear must be worn properly over the eyes at all times during both matches and practice.

◎Official Ball
The Dunlop Pro XX (double yellow dot)

◎Code Of Conduct
All players agree to follow the Japan Squash Association Code of Conduct and the WSF Junior Guidelines upon entry.

◎Anti-Doping
All players must acknowledge and comply with the WSF’s Anti-Doping Rules and Regulations, as well as the doping regulations outlined in Sections E12 - E15 of the ASF Championship Regulations, as part of the accreditation process.
Any player who refuses to undergo doping control or is found guilty of a doping violation confirmed by a positive laboratory test will be subject to disciplinary action by the ASF in accordance with its established procedures and penalties.
