Your Yamathon【English edition】

※This site is for payment by team leaders only.
The mandatory donation is *14,000 yen (entry fee) per team. Please note that if other members of the same team apply through this site, it will result in duplicate payment.
*100% of this will be donated to NPO Yokohama Children’s Hospice Project.


The team leader must sign up to Sports Entry before registering their team for Tokyo Yamathon.
◆If we are forced to cancel the event due to disasters or any unavoidable reasons, your mandatory donation will not be refunded and will be donated to NPO Yokohama Children’s Hospice Project.
◆If there is a COVID19 state of emergency in Tokyo in the period of October through December, we ask you to change your selected date to one that is outside the state of emergency.

- Please change Your Yamathon schedule through designated procedure (for insurance purpose), you can walk Your Yamathon on the new date after the state of emergency ends. (Please refer the section of “Change of Your Yamathon walking date”)
- Please note that if you are forced to change your walking schedule after the “change” deadline, your team will still be able to walk on the new schedule, but you will not be covered by insurance.
- If you plan to walk in December, it is possible that you will not be able to postpone your schedule in the event that a state of emergency is declared. In such a case, please be aware that should you still walk it will be without insurance coverage.
- In any of the above cases, your mandatory donation (entry fee) will be donated to the NPO Yokohama Children\'s Hospice Project.


<Entry Procedure>

STEP 1  The team leader must complete the entry procedure and pay the mandatory donation through this website (14,000 yen + system fee per team).
The team leader must sign up to Sports Entry in advance.

STEP 2 Team member registration
After the team leader has paid the entry fee in STEP 1, a “Payment/Entry Confirmation e-mail” will be sent to the teamleader.
In the email, there will be a URL for team member registration.
The team leader must forward this registration URL to the other team members and each member must then enter the necessary information using the link. The other team members also must sign up to Sports Entry in advance. The team leader is also required to enter the required information from the same link.

Please note that insurance cannot be applied to members who do not complete member registration.

The change request due dates have been set to ensure insurance coverage after change.


STEP 3 Team number cards to be sent by post team leaders
The number cards will be shipped to team leaders approximately 1 week before your registered Your Yamathon dates.

STEP 4 Complete Your Yamathon walk and submit a screenshot of your recorded data from a sports tracking app of your choice

Event Place and Rules ■Route
General roads and sidewalks along the JR Yamanote Line:
・A self-paced Yamanote that follows the general roads along the Yamanote Line and goes around all stations.
・A model route will be presented, but we encourage you to use your map reading skills to find short cuts around the Yamanote Line (entry into private land and restricted areas are strictly prohibited).

1) Your Yamathon (approx. 42 km):
Start at any station on the JR Yamanote Line, visit all 30 stations, and return to the station you started at within 12 hours. Take creative team photos at each station. Either clockwise or counterclockwise around the Yamanote Line is acceptable.

2) Half Your Yamathon (about 20km):
Start at any station on the JR Yamanote Line, walk 15 stations and finish within 12 hours. Take dynamic and creative team photos at each station.
Entry Fee and charity 14,000 yen / team
The number of people in one team is from 1 to 4 people

The full amount of the entry fee will be donated to the charity partner "Certified NPO Yokohama Children's Hospice".

* Because this is an event for charity, the entry fee will not be refunded even if you cancel your participation after making the application payment. The entire amount will be donated to our charity partner.
Eligibility ・Must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event.
・If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a guardian or adult.
・Have the ability to finish Yamathon within 12 hours.
Time record & Ranking ・Your Yamathon is a self-paced challenge, so you must enter your start/finish time in the link we send you, upload the result of the tracking application you are using on your smartphone with a screenshot, and the organizer will report the official time and ranking in total after October ends.
・Details will be communicated after team entry.

The registration deadline is set to ensure that the insurance is set up in advance.
Team number & Number cards ・Upon entry, the organizer will assign the team number and number cards for the members.
・The package of the team’s number cards will be posted to the team leader before your Your Yamathon date.
Change of Your Yamathon walking date ・Participating teams can change the originally planned Your Yamathon walking date during October 1 through December 31.
・You can also change member(s)
・For any changes, please make sure your team leader informs the organizers in advance, for safety and accuracy of information.
・We will set a change deadline, make sure to contact us before then.
・Please note that accident insurance will not be applicable to teams who make last minute changes or make changes without notification, as accident compensation will not be possible due to the mis-match of applicants name and the date of the registration

Your Yamathon rules (important, must read) ■Course Navigation
You must pass all 30 stations on the Yamanote line (15 station for the Half Yamathon) and take a photo at each station.
・You can choose clockwise or counterclockwise.
・We will present a model course, but you are free to make your own course plan.

■Photos
・You must visit all 30 stations on the Yamanote Line (15 stations for Half Your Yamathon) and take a picture of your team in front of the signboard of the station name of each station.
・The photos taken will be shared via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter of Tokyo Yamathon (details will be introduced later).

■Time recording & Ranking
・Since walking will be done at your own pace, each team leader will be required to upload the course time to the organizer’s system by self-report after the goal.
・At the same time, upload a screenshot certifying the course time on the recording page of the a smartphone app (the one you are using such as Strava or Runtastic).
・The official time and overall ranking will be announced after the event with validation by the organizer.
For safe walking ・Walk in single file. Do not obstruct other pedestrians.
・Walk on the pavement/sidewalk where present.
・No pavement/sidewalk – walk on the right-hand side, facing on-coming traffic.
・Obey all traffic laws and signals.
・Obey any instructions given by the police.
・Do not take shortcuts through private property such as temples, shrines, parks, etc.
Attention ■Refund of Entry Fee
・This event is for charity purposes. All donations will be used for the activities of our charity partner.
・No refund will be given if participation is abandoned due to team circumstances after registration
・No refund will be given if the event is canceled due to the pandemic, organizer's circumstances, weather, disaster, etc.,

■COVID19 Countermeasures
・Tokyo Yamathon will operate in accordance with the novel corona infectious disease countermeasures (event guidelines) by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Participants are also encouraged to participate in compliance.
・Participants should pay attention to their physical condition towards the day of your “Your Yamathon”, and if you have any symptoms such as not feeling well or fever, please contact the team leader and refrain from participating. As long as two or more team members can be retained, you can walk Your Yamathon.
・If you are eligible for the following condition on the day of Your Yamathon, please refrain from participating:
⇒During the past 14 days, you have been diagnosed or tested as a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case in the last 14 days
⇒During the past 14 days, you have had any of the following symptoms: fever (37.5°C), dry cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or new loss of sense of taste or smell
⇒During the past 14 days, you have been in close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is exhibiting COVID-19-like symptoms
⇒You have been instructed by a health care provider or public health authority to home quarantine
・Please bring hand sanitizer, mask, etc. and keep your social distance during Your Yamathon.
・It is mandatory to wear a mask while walking, and please be considerate and etiquette so as not to cause anxiety to others depending on the situation at other general pedestrians and stores.

■Cancellation of Your Yamathon by COVID19 state of emergency
・If Tokyo metropolitan enters into another State of Emergency in the period of Your Yamathon, we ask you to suspend of walking during the period. And reschedule your walking day at later date, but not later than December 31..
・If we are forced to cancel entire Your Yamathon by unavoidable reasons, the mandatory donation of 14,000 JPY per team will not be refunded, and will be donated to Yokohama Children’s Hospice project.

■Accident and Injury Prevention
・As mentioned at the beginning, safety is the top priority. Please follow the rules and make sure that “Your Yamathon” can be finished in a fun way.
・In the event of an accident or serious injury, please contact the organizer along with the number 110.
・Try to rehydrate and replenish your energy, take care of each other, and be mindful to take a rest as soon as there is a change in your physical condition.
・In participating in “Your Yamathon”, you will be walking approximately 40km. In addition to muscle fatigue, pain such as knee pain and blisters caused by slipping shoes can be very painful. It is recommended to walk in sports shoes you have previously and regularly worn before.

■Insurance
We will take out accident insurance for all volunteers and participants.
(Disability insurance after death:¥4,000万、Daily hospitalization insurance:¥2,000、Outpatient insurance daily amount:¥1,000)
Agreement of terms and conditions I pledge to accept the following items when participating in "Your Yamathon".

1. Compliance with the event’s terms and conditions
I will participate in the event after confirming and approving the event rules and terms & conditions stipulated by the organizer, as well as complying with general traffic regulations. In addition, we recognize that due to the characteristics of the event, if our physical condition may change suddenly, we pledge to promptly stop participating in the event and seek assistance if necessary..

2. Self-reported health status
Currently, I am in good health and have no problems attending the event. In addition, if there is something either my team members or the organizer need to know for emergency medical treatment due to idiosyncratic constitution, pre-existing illness, or other reasons, I will notify them in advance.

3. Self-management responsibility and first aid consent
It is my personal responsibility to attend the event with due attention to safety and health. I will not hold the organizer responsible in the event of an accident during the event. In addition, if an injury or illness occurs, the nearest police, fire department, or hospital will take action on its own. and will not object to the organizer regarding the method and results of the treatment.

4. Coverage for injuries and fatal accidents
My family / relatives or guardians and I are familiar with the contents of this pledge and I have consented to my participation in the event.In the event of a sequelae or death based on the above, the organizer will not be liable to all parties involved in the event regardless of the cause. Also, I acknowledge that any compensation will be within the scope of the accident insurance arranged by the organizer which I have agreed to take part..

5. Disclaimer
If the event is canceled or the contents are changed due to a major occurrence, such as a natural disaster or the judgment by the organizer that the event cannot be held safely due to the worsening of infectious diseases, my entry fee will remain as donation for the charity supported by the event.. I agree not to make a claim for any expense I have made towards participation in the event.

6. Handling of portrait rights and personal information
I acknowledge that my personal information, including portraits, may be used on websites, pamphlets, public relations materials and information media created by the organizer, and accompanying printed matter, videos, etc. produced by the organizer. I hereby consent to the commercial use of this material to promote the event in the future.

7. If I have any doubts about the contents of this pledge regarding matters not stipulated, I agree to resolve them in accordance with the rules of this event and raise any questions before participating in the event itself, if possible.
