[Eligibility・Notes]
・This walking offers meals and beverages including alcohol, so please keep this in mind when applying for participation.
・Please use public transportation if you drink alcohol.
・Young children are expected to be accompanied by a guardian, and people who have difficulty walking should bring someone to assist them.
・Elementary school students and younger, and those who need assistance need to be accompanied by a guardian.
・Preschool children can walk together with their guardian, but no meals will be provided. (Not subject to entry)
・Parents accompanied by preschool children need to have own ”Insurance for children”.

*”Cruise boats” or ”shuttle buses” will operate from the reception site at the Chinese Garden・Encho-en to the starting line of the walking course at Hawai Onsen - outside the Togo Onsen tourist office.
*”Cruise boats” may be canceled due to weather conditions. In that case, only ”shuttle buses” will operate.
*If ”Cruise boats” are canceled, 300 yen will be refunded on the day of the event.
*Starting time may change depending on the weather.

PR This event offers a walk along the scenic Togo Lake which has one of the Sanin area’s “Eight Beautiful Sights.” and is the site of a legendary visit by an angel. Located here are “Hawai Onsen” known as the Hawaii of Japan and “Togo Onsen” beloved by literati, where you can enjoy hot spring bathing after your walk at a ryokan (Japanese inn) and other day-use public facilities. At the gastro points, enjoy the tastes of the Sanin region with famous crab and pears, and also the tastes of Tottori with large freshwater clams from Togo Lake, Tottori Wagyu which is gaining national recognition, and ramen with beef-bone broth which has been loved by locals for many years.
What is ONSEN Gastronomy Walking? ONSEN・Gastronomy Tourism is a new tourism that introduces the charm of hot spring resorts in Japan by walking and experiencing the food, nature, culture and history of local areas.
We open this event, ONSEN Gastronomy Walking, to enjoy a stroll through the beauty of hot spring areas, to experience our history and nature, to taste local foods and beverages, and finally to soak in a soothing hot spring at the end of the tour.

Gastronomy menu ・Oni Shijimi (Freshwater clams from Togo Lake) Soup
 Shijimi fresh water clams from Togo Lake are said to be the largest in size and especially large pieces are selected for serving. Shijimi Clams taste best when served as soup.
・Handmade Igisu Seaweed
 "Igisu" Seaweed is boiled, dissolved and hardened and then served as a local favorite, especially on special events.
・Clam-shaped Fish Burger
 Original fish burgers made with locally-caught "Mahi Mahi" which has been fried and served in clam-shaped buns. It received a Performance Award at the Tottori Burger Festival.
・Tottori Wagyu on Skewers
 Tottori Wagyu won first place in the "11th National Wagyu Olympics" in 2017. Japan's best Wagyu beef is served on skewers.
・Tottori Welkani
 The taste of Red Snow Crab representative of Tottori and is served boiled and topped with crab miso.
・Tottori Gyukotsu (broth made from beef bones) Ramen
 "Gyukotsu Ramen" is, as the names speaks, ramen with soup made from beef bones. The soup is flavorful, mild and has a slightly sweet taste. It is popular as a "soul food" in central Tottori.
・"20th Century Pear" from Pear Kingdom, Tottori will be served as a dessert. This pear has a lush taste and perfect texture.
Scenic point Known as the site where an angel descended from heaven, Togo Lake is one of the eight most beautiful scenic places in the Sanin region. "Hawai Onsen" and "Togo Onsen" where hot spring water comes from the bottom of the lake have also been loved by locals for many years for their scenery. In recent years "Shichifukujin-no-yu" (Hot Spring of the Seven Deities of Good Luck) has become popular and are foot baths in seven different places in town. In this event, you can stop by five of these locations. Togo Lake is in the center of Yurihama city and where you can witness a variety of scenary depending on the season and time of day. The sunset and the winter morning haze are said to be particularly beautiful. "Yotsude Ami" (4-armed fishing nets) can be seen along the lake of the Matsuzaki area and have been used as a traditional fishing nets for generations. The view has now become a symbolic landmark of Togo Lake. There are many shrines and temples in the vicinity of the walking course including Shitori Shrine known as Hokikuni Ichinomiya. There is also the largest keyhole-shaped tomb mound in Sanin, Kitayama Ancient Burial Mound, and more than 600 other mounds remain giving the area a feel an ancient romantic village. In particular, the area around Lake Togo during the Kamakura Era is often portrayed in pictorial diagrams in school textbooks, and most of the landscape remains until today without change. In addition, a retro cityscape from the Showa Era can be found near JR Matsuzaki Station which is sure to bring back nostalgic memories.
