Located in the southern part of the scenic Hyuga-nada, Aburatsu in Nichinan City flourished as a center for tuna fishing and the transport of Obi cedar. As a result, many historical buildings from the Meiji Era to the Taisho and early Showa Eras remain. The town is filled with an emotional atmosphere and is famous as the site of the winter camp of the Hiroshima Carp baseball team. Also used as a location for films and dramas, you can enjoy a walk overlooking the historical buildings of Aburatsu and the Hyuga-nada from the Nichinan coast. In terms of gastronomy, the tastes of Nichinan include Jidokko chicken, char-broiled Miyazaki beef, bonito and rice, and Gyo-udon. After the walk, you can relax in a hot spring bath.
