- This is Japan's southernmost ultramarathon event. The past four years have seen good weather with the temperature rising up to 30 degrees celcius. Aid stations are set up every 4-5km along the course with local food on offer, as well as plenty of ice is provided. Last year 1200kg of ice was brought in for the race. Make it to the finish goal and enjoy a shower and post-race festivities. You can enjoy being barefooted on the grass whilst eating Ishigaki beef BBQ and enjoying the live local folk music. There will be plenty of local Okinawan cuisine to fill your stomach after the race. Wash this all down with beer, local Okinawan sake, tea, local tea to quench your thirst after the long run. Eat, drink, dance and enjoy!

Contents: At the goal area there will be a post-race party including local island performances (in the event of rain, it will be at the indoor soccer field). There will also be local Okinawan food boxes (bento), tea, local sake/liquor (Awamori), Ishigaki beef barbeque etc

Aide runners for the visually impaired:
If a visually impaired participant requires an accompanying aide runner, the entry free for the accompanying aide runner will be free (limited to one person).
The participating entrant will be required to enter in the details of the aide runner at the time of entry.The aide runner need not be a registered member of Sports Entry.
Running with 2 accompanying aide runners is prohibited. Replacing out an aide runner during the event is not permitted and will result in disqualification.
The registered participant runner will receive a participant good/souvenir, however the aide runner will not be eligible to receive the participant good.
If either of the registered participating runner or the accompaying aide runner retires, both will be deemed to have retired at that point.
Please note that there will be sections of the course which will be quite narrow and will reuire the runner and the aide runner to run side by side.

About public transport/access:
If you use a taxi service other than the taxi service provided by the Race Organisers, please arrange it on your own and be sure to book in advance
If you plan on driving yourself or using a rental car, please use the designated carparking lot at the Start Venue and follow the directions and guidance of race staff.

Event/Race course selection:
For the 60km and 43km (and 32km) - there are 3 section categories for each distance. Please choose your course depending on the level of your physical ability.
It is possible to change between the 43km and 32km race distance on the day. Regardless of which one you originally registered for, you can change the distance on the day.

Course features Located 400km south of Okinawa (Naha), the course starts from lush green grass and passes through mountains and jugngles, and along the coast of the island. The course circles the island, and is an up and down race which starts and finishes at Akanma soccer park.

Starting on the green lawn of the soccer field, it's 2km towards the mountains were wild boars can be found. As you ascend the mountain, you'll reach the first aid station. As you then descend, the next aid station is about 10km away (at the Nagura community centre). From there it's a leisurely run with a view of the ocean along the coast as you pass through various villages. At Yaima village is the Sakieda community centre aid station where you'll turn around and head for Ogasaki lighthouse. The return route will take you back along the Sakieda peninsula back to the original road, passing pineapple fields as you make your way to the finish line.

Those who join the 60km race participants from Akanma can then take the shuttle bus after 8am from Akanma to the start point.
For those coming straight from the hotel etc, please make your own way to Yaima village. (Yaima village is approx. 9km away from Ishigaki city centre)
For the 43km and 23km race participants, from Yaima village, the course then follows the same route as the 60km race course.
At the Sakieda Community centre aid station point, please choose whether you will go onwards to Ogasaki lighthouse or turn around at this point (ie the Sakieda Community centre aid station turnaroun point)
Looping back at this point will be the 32km course distance race.

Points to note Participant Obligations/Terms and Conditions
If you do not have a means of transportation to the starting point, the Race Organisers will arrange a taxi etc. (Transportation expense is 800 yen per person)
Please be sure to bring a personal cup, a bottle etc, for use at the aid/water stations. Please fill up from the drink tanks which will provided at the aid stations. .

The race event may be cancelled or changed (eg distance shortened) in the event of natural disaster or other accident or incident.
If the race is cancelled or the distance is shortened, no refund of entry fee will be given.
No changes after application will be permitted. In addition, refund entry fee will not be refunded if the race is cancelled or if you choose to not or cannot participate.
Health management will be your personal responsbility including obtaining medical clearance/health check up in advance of the race.
Please do not push yourself if you are in bad physical condition or feel unwell. Please exercise responsibility and have courage to retire if necessary.
For any accidents sustained or occurred during the event, the Race Organizer willprovide emergency first aid measures an necessary but ,no responsibility will be taken for any treatment provided or subsequent results. (All participants will have sports accident insurance coverage but it will not cover hospitalization due to illnedd or medical disease etc.).
Please bring your health insurance card (a copy is also OK).
Please take personal responsibility for any valuables.
On ordinary roads, please follow regular traffic laws and regulations and actl safely.

Route course may change due to various circumstances.
Participants are aware and acknowledge that photographs taken during competition may be used for printed materials such as event pamphlets and use on the official website for future events, and the wonership, use and right of portrait is delegated to the Race Organizer. In addition, the participant list and competition result program which will be published in newspapers etc will be delegated to the Race Organizer as well.
Other Please wear the plain T-shirts with your number on it. (T-shirts will be pre-distributed) You can write your preferred name on the T-shirt. Please fill in at the time of application. If you prefer to run in your own t-shirt, ,please contact us in advance and we will prepare a race bib number instead.
Tvisually impaired runners who require an accompanying aide runner, are allowed to have aide runner whose entry fee will be free.
Please register/check in at the main event headquarters. Note that 2 aide runners are prohibited. Furthermore, it is prohibited to swap out the aide runner with a substitute during the race, and to do so would result in disqualification. There is no participant good/souvenir for the aide runner so please feel free to share/use as you like between the registered runner and the aide runner.
If a participant or a runner's aide decides to retire, both will deem to have retired at that point.
