- Joy of Walking Heartful Mind The Seto Road of Dreams and History

- The 32nd "Setouchi Kurashiki Two-Day March" will be held in Kurashiki City which is located on the Seto Inland Sea boasting picturesque views of the islands and the Seto Ohashi Bridge connecting Honshu and Shikoku. This walk will also take place in Kibi known for its amazing blend of history and nature. Enjoy nature, physical fitness, and heart-to-heart connection with others. We will welcome many walker participants from our local area and other parts of Japan.

· Those who obey event rules and follow good manners while walking.
※ Please observe traffic rules and follow the instructions of the event staff.
※ Please do not inconvenience the area residents.
※ Please take garbage home yourself.
※ Littering from cigarettes or garbage is strictly prohibited.
※ This event is not a race. Please walk at your own pace and reach the finish line by 17:00 on 9th (Sat) and 16:00 on 10th (Sun).
Entry/Registration Fee The participation fee is the same regardless of participating day, course, or distance.

※Rain or shine, participation fee will not be refunded even if cancelled by participant.
* Any service fees related to payment of participation fee will be charged to participants.

※ If you apply on event day, please be aware there may be shortages of souvenirs.

○ 40 km (38.6 km) Seto Ohashi Bridge · Mt. Washu Course [Registration] from 6: 00 [Departure] 7:00
Winding through the historical landmark of the former Nozaki family residence, the Mt. Washu course provides a lesson in the history and culture of Kojima.Along this famous course, the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea observed from the mountain top and the spectacular view overlooking the majestic Seto Ohashi Bridge will help you forget the difficulty of the long road. ○ 20km (18.6km) New Kumano Historical Course [Registration] from 8: 00 [Departure] 9: 00
Feel the history as you wander through historical sites such as Fujitoji Temple and Kumano Shrine. The warm hospitality of the local people at the resting place is also one of the attractions. Because there are many level roads, this course is recommended for people who would prefer to leisurely walk a long, flat distance. "500 Selections (33 - 8)"

"Following in the footprints of the Genpei battle, you can experience several historical sites such as Senjin-an, Embarcation Rock, Kyogashima, and Fujitoji Temple. This course is an easy walk that allows you to explore history with family and friends with camera at hand. "500 Selections (33 - 8)"

【March 10 (Sunday)】
○ 30km (28.0km) Reconstruction Support Kibino Makibi Course [Registration] from 6: 00 [Departure] 7: 00
Because of the heavy rains which hit western Japan in July of 2018, the Mabi District was severly damaged. Reconstruction has taken time, but is steadily moving forward one step at a time. Let's support the reconstruction spirit while walking and feeling the charm of Mabi. "500 Selections (33 - 8)"

○ 20km (18.9km) Ryokan Course [Registration] from 8: 00 [Departure] 9: 00
You can feel both history and nature in historic sites such as Yaku Shrine, Heratori Shrine, Entsuji Temple where Ryokan Osho studied, and in the Toricho Shopping District where you can feel the retro atmosphere of the Taisho and early Showa era. This is a more challenging course with two mountain passes with rough terrains.

○ 10km (11.3km) Sakazu Park Course [Registration] from 9: 00 [Departure] 10:00
At Sakazu Park, you can see nature filled with flower beds and greenery and you can experience the historical East-West Takahashi River Water Distribution Facility, which is a nationally-designated important cultural property. In the latter half of the course, you can also stop at the Kurashiki Secenic Area. The entire course is flat and easy. "500 Selections (33 - 8)"

【March 9th (Saturday), 10th (Sunday) same schedule for both days】
○ 5km (4.6km) Kurashiki Bikan area Course [Registration] from 10: 00 [Departure] 11: 00
This course winds through the Kurashiki sightseeing spot. With many souvenir shops, general stores and cafés that are located in original, old-fashioned town houses with white-walls, there will be many spots you will like to visit. It is a flat and easy-walking course. "500 Selections (33 - 8)"

○ 5km (4.6km) Sightseeing Walk [Registration] from 10: 00 [Departure] 11: 00
With a guide to explain the townscape of the beautiful Kurashiki district, there may be new discoveries even for those who have visited the area many times in the past. Enjoy the blend of retro and modern while strolling through the gorgeous area. This course is available to only the first 140 walkers on a daily first-come, first-served basis. Please apply early. Q. I'd like to change the participation date and the distance of the course? "
A. Even after registration, you can change the participation date or the distance of the course. Advance contact is unnecessary. Please come to the main registration desk with the registration certificate at the registration time of the course you wish to attend on the day.

Q. How can I register for participation on the day of the event?
A. Please come at the hours of the course registration you wish to participate and fill the special form at the main registration.

Q. I would like to leave early, so I'd like to start earlier than departure time of participation course ...?
A. Transportation staff and checkpoint personnel of each course cannot correspond with those who depart before the prescribed time because the passing time is calculated from the specified departure time and place. Also, the opening time of the finish line is from 12: 00 to 17: 00 on Saturday, 9th (Sat) and 11: 00 - 16: 00 on Sunday 10th (Sunday). Please give yourself a plenty of time.

Q. The start and goal venues are different, what should I do?
A. Regarding courses that do not return to the starting point (Kurashiki City Hall), we operate a free shuttle bus from the finish line to the main venue (Kurashiki City Hall).
(※ For Ryokan Course on 10th (Sunday) we have a bus from the finish line to the main venue and JR Shin Kurashiki station.)

Q. I'd like to leave my baggage?
A. We have "baggage storage" at the main venue. If you wish to go home directly from the finish line on a course that will not return to the starting point (Kurashiki City Hall), we will transport your luggage to the finish line if you make arrangements at "baggage check-in".
